How many times have poets said,"I'm in a dry place with my muse and I can't write?"
Other poets insist they can write everyday, perhaps some days better than others.
The idea of PD4P (Perfect Day for Poetry) Forumis to provide a venue by which poets can prove to themselves that they CAN write every day, even on those horrid occasions whenblack would dominate the color spectrum.
NOTE, the emphasis will NOT beon quality, only on producing.
The rules are simple.
1] Write and post here one poem a day for 30 days. Haiku is fine, but no revisions. This is a place for first drafts written within a 24-hour period.
When posting a poem, use the *New Topic* button; if making a comment on an existing poem, click its title and then click *Add Reply* button.
2] In your title, put two numbers. Roman numeral I stands for your first round, and (1) for your first poem. Hence, (I.1) then (I.2) then (I.3) and so on.After reaching your 30th poem in the first round, start poems in the 2nd round as (II.1), (II.2), (II.3), and so on.
3] When you miss a day, no problemo, start over, the forum will be a continuing process with poets at all different places in their 30 days.
4] No critique, lotsa helpful commentary on other poems is the goal. PD4P is here to lift the loneliness out of writing alone -- so, try to mingle with everyone and offer your moral support generously.
5] Any subject, any style, welcome.
6] Free from perfection pressure for the present, focus on functioning whether feeling like it or not.
7] Remember, the goal is not to finish the poem you're working on now; the focus is to create for 30 consecutive days. Because of the recent increase in PD4P participants, please post only 1 poem per day -- this makes it less time-consuming for everyone to go around and comment on the poems.
8] And by all means, look for the joy in all of it, there is trial and error in this effort. Impossible?
Only to the one who doesn't try.
