FORUM GUIDELINES

1) Read guidelines IN FULL and "sign" the "STICKY" thread, confirming, "I have read the guidelines, and will comply".
2) POST NOTHING (crit or poem) until you have signed once.
3) Prior to posting one of your own, a critique of TWO (2) other poems is required.
4) A critique must show knowledge of common poetical devices. A MINIMUM critique must contain:
....(a) 1 major and 1 minor suggestion for the poem; plus
....(b) a note re: the title working/not working; plus
....(c) a comment about poem length/line breaks; plus
....(d) pointing out typos/msp/punctuation etc; and finally
....(e) encouragement for the poet.Line by line critique is acceptable but unexpected.
5) Post the titles of the two poems criiqued atop any poem post.
6) Revisions: Edit significant revisions beneath the original poem, in the original post and modify the thread header to say "TITLE......, Rev #....."
7) Helpful commentary and conversation between poets on thepoem is encouraged.
Always voice appreciation for the time and effort of the one giving the critique.
Stifle displeasure.
8) ZERO tolerance for attacks/flames of poets/critiques.
A violation may result in immediate deletion of your work.
9) Don't make policing necessary, this is our house, let's work together -- return crits, reply with thanks, communicate and all will be well.
(10) A poem posted w/o sign-in or the requisite critiques will be moved to The Poetry Cafe.
